The Imperial eagle newly as target species in Czechia
5. 2. 2019
The Czech government signed on Monday 4th February the important decree, which adds the Imperial eagle as a target species of the SPA Soutok-Tvrdonicko in the South Moravian Region. It means that for example logging less than 300 metres around the nest will be restricted.
The Imperial eagle has been nesting on the territory of Soutok-Tvrdonicko since 1998 and until 2007 it was the only breeding site of this species in the Czech Republic. This is important step, because it's the first change in SPAs in the Czech Republic from their designation.
