New case of poisoning of the Imperial Eagle in Slovakia

New case of poisoning of the Imperial Eagle in Slovakia was revealed by the State Nature Conservancy staff on 23/03/2020 in the vicinity of the Pobedim village.

The victim was the young female that  was ringed on June 21/06/2019 as the only young on the nest in the nearby Považský Inovec Mountains. The area is known for several cases of „mysterious disappearance“ of eagles or unsuccessful nesting. Besides the young eagle, other cadavers were found on the site that could served as bait.
